Beta testing for Funcom's Secret World

Hi Neps,

Lat night Caz told me how to get a key to do beta testing for the new Funcom game Secret World. It's free and it's only on weekends. It's a pricey game so I hope I don't like it because I can't afford it But I think I will try it.

I think funcom developed this game for their new engine (is that what it's called?) I don't think they will ever upgrade AO but I like AO as it is.

secret world engine is build upon old AO engine - same as Age of Conan engine

Problem is AO was coded in 1999 - way back - why they call it spaghetti code - noone knew what they where doing or if it was smart - and very few of those who where there are still - if any - so it's very hard and dangerous to touch ^^

fix one thing - break 2 others

+ they did the fail with trying to use an outside engine for 1.5 years - may have learnt some code stuff - but a waste, instead of going for their own engine....

Hi Ank I miss seeing you.

I tried to log into the beta today, after downloading 12.8 GIGS (!) of the game and was told that my computer wasn't up to snuff. My processor is too small

I am sad because I can't see the game but since I can't play it anyway it's all for the best.
